RENOFEST
March 26, 27, 28, 2010
Held the fourth weekend in March, this bluegrass music festival is built around the music
of Don Reno (writer of, among other songs, "Dueling Banjos"). Festival events include:
- Friday (1:00-5:00 pm) Bluegrass Band Contest at the historic Center Theater with
5 bands vying for $1500 prize.
- Friday Evening (6-9 pm) Bluegrass "Downtown Hoe-Down" and B-B-Q block party
downtown at Cargill Way (off S. Fifth Street/US 15 Business).
- Friday Late (9pm-until) Honky-Tonk Hartsville with bluegrass music at
participating downtown restaurants.
- Saturday All Day (10:30 am-10 pm) bluegrass concerts and Banjo and Guitar
Contests at the Center Theater.
- Sunday (10:30 am) Old-timey bluegrass gospel at Wesley Methodist Church.

JULY 4TH FAMILY FIREWORKS FESTIVAL
Friday, July 2th, 2010 (rain date is Saturday, July 3th). Hartsville's July 4th Family Fireworks Festival will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1001 North Marquis Highway (intersection of US 15 and US 15 Business), just north of Hartsville, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with fireworks at dusk (approx. 9:15).Enjoy performances by local music groups, dance groups and a patriotic tribute, as well as amusements, such as pony rides, inflatable games, midway games (like a bean bag toss) plus hot dog and pie eating contests. Merchandise and food vendors will fill the courtyard. You can be sure there will be plenty of good food. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax, but no coolers or alcohol, please.
